Dr. Ryoichi Nakamura (Doctor of Engineering) is appointed as an advisor.
We are pleased to announce Dr. Ryoichi Nakamura, a doctor of engineering, as an advisor as of April 1, 2021.
Dr. Nakamura, specializing in computer surgery, especially in surgical robotics, surgical skill analysis, surgical process analysis, and surgical navigation, has been supervising our medical training device development research as a mentor since before the establishment of KOTOBUKI Medical. With the appointment of Dr. Nakamura as an official advisor, we will work closely together to establish and commercialize quantification and evaluation methods for surgical training using VTT, our main product, image processing, AI, and deep learning, and to revitalize our business together.
Profile of Dr. Ryoichi Nakamura
Graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Engineering. Doctor of Engineering(Engineering). He has been a researcher at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital, an assistant at Tokyo Women’s Medical University, an associate professor at Chiba University, a PRESTO researcher at the Japan Science and Technology Agency, and a professor at Tokyo Medical and Dental University. He is a director of Hikari Sangyo co., ltd. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Japanese Society for Computer Aided Surgery.
Specialties
Computer surgery, especially surgical assistive robotics, surgical skill analysis, surgical process analysis, and surgical navigation. Cooperated in development of VTT, “archelis”, a wearable chair for medical use, and CNK series forceps for endoscopic surgery training.
